remembrance day service and medals presentation at the sydney maori anglican fellowship church of te wairua tapu
on sunday 13 november 2010 the nzvia nz veterans contribute to s small church service in memory of our fallen at the sydney maori anglican church of te wairua tapu.
However, this year we organised to have the NZDSM formally presented to NZ Veterans by the NZ High Commissioner HE Maj Gen (Retd) Martyn Dunne CNZM and City of Sydney Clr Philip Black. Also in attendence was Emeritus Chancellor of the University of Western Sydney Sir Ian Turbott Kt AO CVO CMG Hon.D.Litt(UWS), NZDF Commodore Ross Smith and 28 Maori Battalion Representative Myra Wineera. Although they did not receive a medal it was still nice to have three WWII Veterans: 98 year old Frank Harlow; 95 year old Arch Campbell and 93 year old Maurice Borland also attend.
