Dear Veterans, on sunday 20 march 2011 NZ Veterans welcomed Cpl Willie Apiata VC, Keith Payne VC DSC AOM and Cpl Ben Roberts-Smith VC to Sydney with a formal Powhiri conducted at the Sydney maori anglican fellowship church of te wairua tapu. However, accompanying the VC recipients was Michael Pratt who was awarded the George Cross.

It was possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only get three VC recipients together but to have them accept an invite to a Powhiri at the Church was absolutely memorable.

Thanks goes to all those Veterans that were able to attend at short notice. It was a very memorable event which is unlikely to occur again in the near future.
